i dont even have a computer with an agp slot any more so i cant test this card. i have been meaning to build a system specific for this card, based on a socket "A" athlon system, but have not had the time..... |

the bad news, i dont have any ways to test this card and the person i bought it from had never used it, all i can do is sale it as "AS IS" i would assume it iether works or could be made to work. |
This card is SO dead.. _________________

I guess he just wants to make more money out of it by claiming he does not know whether its working or not.
Still not a nice move, either. _________________ Pentium4 3.06 Ghz, Abit SA7, 768 MB DDR ( PC3200 ), Voodoo5-6000 Rev. A2 2600 |

I suspected as such- Who would win an auction for one and then turn around and try and resell it weeks later claiming they never tried it?
That just doesn't make any sense. |

He bought the card only 2 weeks ago here, I'm wondering why anybody would sell such a precious card so soon after the purchase...
I'm also wondering why the seller writes "i have been meaning to build a system specific for this card, based on a socket "A" athlon system, but have not had the time....." - yes, 2 weeks can change everything but if I don't have the time now I'll have the time in a few weeks so it's a shame to see this card serving as "just a thing to make profit"...
It's very exciting to run such a jewel but in a showcase it's almost just as good as in a running system so I really don't understand the seller... _________________ My 3dfx-gallery at 3dfx.ch |

Oh, i pretty much can understand the seller. Think "money". What he is doing in this auction is unfortunately standard ebay procedure. Most people sell dead hardware as untested, because that way it is very easy to not provide any warranty, not even non-DOA.
Just try and buy some cheap "untested" hardware off ebay. Most of the time that hardware will be DOA... This happens all the time unfortunately, it's just a shame that it happens with 6000s too. Same shit with my first 6000, that i bought off ebay. _________________

I see it is missing a large IC on the backside. |

Dual P2 is too slow for a V6K setup, an AthlonXP 2400+ or greater setup is far better for the 6K and as teh performance lol. |

In some newer games like Dungeon Siege 2 even a 2,2 GHz AXP Barton is not enough ...

yea thats a lot of cash to pay on a card missing a chip :/ These recent events like this are making me seriously not trust any more v5 6000's that make their way onto ebay... _________________ Aspiring V5 6K user |

Well it's quite "simple": Only bid on cards that are unmistakably declared as "fully working", resp. "tested and running".
